I think nerfing the stat itself on all slugs by around 20 or so would accomplish the previous objective and then some. Every slug in the game right now can hit the max falloff range of 13m. However, I feel that alongside or instead of that, there are more elegant adjustments.

The simple solution to keep slugs useful, I think is to reduce their maximum falloff range to the previous heights of pellet shotguns. The difference between them has grown to such lengths that I see people day in day out using slugs for double bodies or body/melees. Slug shotties have never outranged pellets by that much, until now.

The point of slugs is to outrange pellet shotties, at the cost of precision. So to start, slugs used to be close competitors to pellet shotguns. I'm typing this now in an attempt to rationalize why I'm getting bagged for using my favorite weapon, and to possibly provide remedies to this situation. I see that the situation is more nuanced. "Gasp! Folks are calling for nerfs upon my blessed child now that more people are using it! How dare they, slugs require many a skill to use effectively!!" "People are finally waking up to the power of slugs! O joyous day!" For an amount of time, I was blinded by zealotry and passion. For the past few weeks, I've basically gone through the 5 stages of grief concerning the state of slug shotguns and their apparent popularity. I am a chaperone user(fanboy) of 6 years now.
